Louise Leach (nee Cohen), the founder of ‘Dancing with Louise‘, was educated at North London Collegiate School for Girls and started her Dance career training part time at an ISTD registered dance school, completing her examinations in Ballet, Tap, Modern/Jazz, National & Drama with the ISTD and LAMDA boards. Whilst studying for her university degree in French & Spanish, she went on to study dance in Spain, training with some of the world’s most renowned choreographers.
In 2001 she quit the music industry in favour of a Torah observant lifestyle and started her Dance company, Dancing with Louise (DWL). Her aim was to provide professional fitness and dance classes to the community, in a safe environment, ultimately promoting fitness, confidence building and new skills. Over the years, Louise has formulated unique programmes of classes and workshops, designed to offer the highest quality and professional classes in Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre to students of all ages and backgrounds. Louise now directs the business, still finding time to teach some of the classes and workshops, but mainly driving DWL forward to in order to improve its services and to provide classes and shows to as many schools and communities as possible!
Dancing with Louise has 10 permanent locations across North London and runs over 80 classes per week teaching in excess of 800 pupils. This includes our school programmes. All DWL students have the opportunity to showcase their talent and what they have learned by participating in the annual theatrical productions, performing to audiences of over 1000. Louise’s Summer and Winter camps have proven very popular, with many schools keen to collaborate and offer their school community the opportunity to participate in these fun-filled camps.
Louise’s classes have proven to provide an inspiring and creative outlet whilst forming friendships, and learning to develop an appreciation for the arts.
All DWL’s courses and performance opportunities are the perfect platform to develop many skills including fitness, confidence, improved memory, communication and overall enjoyment and enthusiasm for Dance & Performing arts.
“I look foward to welcoming you to our classes and dancing with you soon!”
